The oosh. Hanukkah Shuk NYC – A Celebration of Jewish Joy, Israeli Pride, and the Power of Art
Danielle EisenbergShare
On December 12, 2024, over 150 guests gathered in New York City for the oosh. Hanukkah Shuk, an evening dedicated to celebrating Jewish joy, Israeli pride, and the power of community. This wasn’t just a market—it was a movement. With over 10 Jewish and Israeli artists showcasing their work, attendees had the chance to shop meaningful, handcrafted goods while directly supporting small businesses. More importantly, we came together to raise funds for OneFamily, an organization providing emotional and financial support to victims of terror in Israel and their families.
But at oosh., we believe in more than just monetary assistance—we believe in the healing power of art. That’s why our fundraising efforts specifically supported OneFamily’s Art Therapy Program, a crucial initiative that provides survivors with a creative outlet to process trauma and rebuild their sense of self.
Jewish Art, Jewish Strength
From ceramics to jewelry, paintings to textiles, the Hanukkah Shuk was a vibrant celebration of Jewish artistry. Attendees connected with creators, heard their stories, and walked away with one-of-a-kind pieces that carry deep personal and cultural meaning. Supporting these artists means supporting Jewish resilience—each item purchased was a testament to the creativity and perseverance of our community.
A Look Inside OneFamily’s Art Therapy Program
We’re thrilled to share that, thanks to the generosity of our attendees and supporters, we have now received our first images from the OneFamily art therapy program. The impact is real. In these photos, you’ll see survivors channeling their emotions into clay, and sculpture, using art as a means to process grief, express hope, and reconnect with joy. This is why we do what we do.
Why Art Matters in Healing
At oosh., we’ve always understood that art is more than decoration—it’s catharsis, it’s storytelling, it’s survival. That’s why this initiative was so close to our hearts. By supporting OneFamily’s art therapy program, we’re giving survivors a voice, a safe space, and a way to reclaim their narrative. Creativity is resistance, and through these workshops, Jewish victims of terror are finding their way back to themselves.
Thank You for Showing Up for Israel
This event was about more than just shopping—it was a declaration of Jewish unity, pride, and resilience. In a time when supporting Israel has never been more critical, you showed up. You donated. You celebrated. You proved that Jewish joy is unstoppable.
